AI smart glasses startup Even Realities has reached unicorn status after raising $150 million in a new funding round led by Meituan, with participation from existing investor Tencent. The investment values the company at $1 billion, marking a significant milestone in the rapidly expanding smart wearables industry.
Founded in 2023, Even Realities is carving out a unique position in the AI eyewear market by focusing on privacy-first technology. Unlike many competing smart glasses, its devices do not include built-in cameras. Instead, they use advanced waveguide display technology to present digital information directly within the user’s field of view while maintaining a familiar eyeglass design.

The company’s AI-powered assistant is designed to enhance everyday conversations by providing real-time contextual support, explaining unfamiliar terms, suggesting follow-up questions, and creating summaries that can be synchronized with a connected smartphone.
Even Realities was established by a team of former Apple engineers and technology experts, combining experience in consumer electronics with eyewear design. Its first commercial product, the Even G1, debuted in 2024 and has helped position the company as an emerging player in the AI wearables market.
The latest funding will support the company’s efforts to accelerate product development, expand manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen its presence globally. As competition intensifies among technology companies investing in AI-powered eyewear, Even Realities is differentiating itself by emphasizing lightweight design, user comfort, and enhanced privacy rather than integrating cameras into its products.
The investment highlights growing confidence in AI-enabled wearable technology and underscores the increasing demand for smart devices that seamlessly integrate digital assistance into everyday life while addressing user privacy concerns.
