Former Adamawa Central Senator Ishaku Abbo, popularly known as SIA, has thanked Adamawa voters for what he described as their defence of political dignity and electoral rights following a recent political controversy involving an alleged attempt to revive a previously litigated allegation.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Abbo accused an unnamed political figure of attempting to test the political resolve of Adamawa residents. He said the public response reminded him of the resistance he claimed voters demonstrated during the 2023 electoral dispute involving Hudu and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abbo urged residents to put patriotism above political differences, arguing that disagreements over party affiliation should not prevent citizens from defending their state’s interests. He also criticised those who, in his view, celebrated an outsider’s intervention in Adamawa politics.
Drawing a comparison with United States President Donald Trump, Abbo argued that political supporters should remain committed to their preferred leaders despite controversies and legal challenges. He also stated that he monitors public reactions to his political activities, adding that his team documents online comments and posts.
Expressing confidence in his political future, the former senator declared that he believed he was destined to become Adamawa State governor. He further predicted that a photograph he had shared would appear in government offices across the state next year, bearing the inscription “Governor, Adamawa State.”
Abbo’s statement signals his continued ambition for the state’s top political office ahead of the 2027 governorship election. However, his declaration represents a personal political claim and does not establish an electoral outcome.
