Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has played down speculation that the German champions could move for Erling Haaland if Manchester City are relegated amid their ongoing financial charges case.
Speaking to BILD on Sunday, Hainer was asked whether Bayern would consider signing the Norwegian striker if City were forced out of the Premier League.
The Bayern chief insisted that his club already had sufficient attacking quality and was not looking to strengthen its forward line immediately.
“We have Kane, Olise, Diaz and more. We scored over 120 goals last season. So, I think we are very well equipped in attack,” Hainer said.
Bayern’s current options include England captain Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz, giving the Bundesliga side considerable firepower as it pursues its domestic and European ambitions.
However, Hainer did not completely rule out the possibility of a future move, suggesting that circumstances could change in the coming years.
“If we’re talking about the future in a few years, then there will be a new situation, and we’ll see,” he added.
Haaland remains one of the most prolific strikers in world football, but any potential transfer would depend on several factors, including Manchester City’s circumstances, the player’s own intentions and Bayern’s future recruitment plans.
Manchester City’s ongoing financial case has fuelled speculation about possible sanctions, with relegation frequently mentioned among potential outcomes. However, any punishment would depend on the proceedings and applicable decisions.
For now, Bayern’s position suggests that Haaland is not an immediate priority, although Hainer has left room for future developments.
