The Federal Government is targeting increased agricultural productivity through improved infrastructure, mechanisation, quality seeds and climate-smart farming practices to unlock Nigeria’s agrifood potential.
The strategy is aimed at strengthening food production, improving farmers’ efficiency and building a more resilient agricultural sector capable of supporting food security, job creation and economic growth.
Improved farm infrastructure and access to modern machinery are expected to reduce production costs, while better seeds could help farmers achieve higher yields. Climate-smart farming is also expected to support adaptation to changing weather conditions.
The initiative highlights the importance of modernising agriculture and strengthening the agrifood value chain to improve food availability and support sustainable livelihoods across the country.
