The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says Nigeria’s National Register of Voters has risen to 103.43 million ahead of the 2027 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, disclosed the figure in Abuja during a World Press Conference and National Stakeholders’ Meeting held 100 days before the 2027 elections.

Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters with 7,488,633, followed by Kano with 6,570,276 and Kaduna with 4,662,640. Katsina, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Benue, Ogun and Bauchi complete the top 10 states.

At the lower end, Ekiti has the fewest registered voters with 1,055,708, followed by Bayelsa with 1,200,691. The Federal Capital Territory has 1,732,043 registered voters, while Yobe and Gombe recorded 1,733,671 and 1,768,566 respectively.

INEC said male voters account for 51.75 per cent of the register, while female voters represent 48.25 per cent. Voters aged 35 to 49 constitute the largest age group.

The commission said the updated register would be displayed for public scrutiny from October 9 to 15, while Phase One PVC distribution is also scheduled to begin on October 9.

INEC is expected to present the final register to political parties on December 15.
