Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has advised political appointees who feel short-changed or dissatisfied with their positions in his administration to resign rather than remain in government while harbouring grievances.
The governor made the statement while addressing issues surrounding loyalty, commitment and service within his administration.
Lawal urged appointees to remain focused on the responsibilities entrusted to them and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
He stressed that public office should be viewed as an opportunity to serve the people rather than as a personal entitlement.
The governor said those who believe they have not received what they expected from their appointments are free to step aside, noting that his administration needs individuals who are committed to its development agenda.
He also called on government officials to demonstrate discipline, accountability and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
The statement comes amid political developments in Zamfara, where disagreements among political actors and shifts in political allegiance have continued to attract attention.
Lawal maintained that his administration would continue to prioritise good governance and the interests of Zamfara residents, regardless of individual political interests.
