French President Emmanuel Macron will chair a video conference with G7 leaders on Friday to discuss possible measures to ease pressure on global crude oil and refined fuel markets, the Elysee Palace said.
The meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time, or 12:30 p.m. GMT.
Macron spoke separately overnight with US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney about possible action in energy markets.
France has also asked its European Union partners to release additional diesel reserves as fuel prices rise. The request follows pressure from the United States for European countries to make more fuel supplies available to help ease market pressures.
