Why we left El-Rufai to support Gov. Uba Sani

Members of the political camp that previously supported former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai have explained why they shifted their support to the administration of Governor Uba Sani.

The group said its decision was influenced by political developments in the state and its assessment of the direction of governance under Sani.

The supporters said they decided to back the incumbent governor after considering his approach to leadership, development and engagement with stakeholders across Kaduna State.

They also maintained that their decision was based on their political interests and expectations for the state, rather than personal differences with the former governor.

The development comes amid continuing political realignments in Kaduna and across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The relationship between El-Rufai and Sani has also attracted political attention, with both camps and their supporters expressing different positions on the direction of Kaduna politics.

The latest realignment is expected to generate further discussions among political stakeholders as parties and politicians position themselves ahead of the next elections.
