Reality TV star Josephina “Phyna” Otabor is celebrating the anniversary of her Big Brother Naija victory after making history in the boxing ring.
Phyna marked October 2 as a special date, recalling that she won the seventh season of Big Brother Naija, Level Up, on October 2, 2022. The official BBNaija platform confirmed her victory after 72 days in the house.
The celebration came a day after Phyna defeated actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos.
Phyna stopped Nkechi Blessing in the scheduled four round contest at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, becoming the winner of Nigeria’s first female celebrity boxing bout. She also received a reported N50 million prize.
Reflecting on the two milestones, Phyna described October 2 as a special date in her life. She said her journey from reality television to the boxing ring had challenged her to break barriers and prove that there was more to her than people see.
After the fight, Phyna also called out Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia, who was present at the event, for another celebrity boxing contest.
Phyna’s latest victory adds another milestone to her career four years after she became the winner of BBNaija Season 7.
