The Vice Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rotimi Amaechi, has told party leaders that he and other members of the coalition would retire from politics if President Bola Tinubu wins the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi made the remark while addressing ADC leaders as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
He urged party members to remain committed to the political movement and work towards its objectives ahead of the election.
Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, is the running mate to the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the 2027 election. The ADC formally announced his selection as the party’s vice presidential candidate in June 2026.
The former governor has remained active in the coalition seeking to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 presidential election.
His latest comment comes as political parties and coalitions continue to strengthen their structures and mobilise supporters ahead of the polls.
