Rio Ave are closing in on the appointment of Vasco Seabra as their new head coach, with the Portuguese tactician expected to make the move from fellow Primeira Liga side Arouca.
Seabra has emerged as Rio Ave’s preferred candidate as the club moves to strengthen its technical leadership and prepare for the challenges ahead.
The 42-year-old coach has built a reputation in Portuguese football through spells with several clubs, including Moreirense, Boavista, Estoril and Arouca.
His work at Arouca has placed him on the radar of Rio Ave, who are now understood to be advancing negotiations over his appointment.
If the final details are completed, Seabra will take charge of Rio Ave and begin preparations with the squad for the remainder of the campaign.
The move would represent another opportunity for the Portuguese coach to establish himself at a new club in the country’s top flight.
