The Kebbi State Government has warned civil servants against lateness and absenteeism, urging workers to demonstrate greater commitment to their official responsibilities.
The warning is aimed at improving punctuality, discipline and productivity across ministries, departments and agencies in the state.
The state Head of Service had previously raised concerns over workers arriving late to their offices during an inspection of government establishments. He stressed that punctuality and dedication were necessary for effective service delivery.
The government has also highlighted its efforts to improve workers’ welfare. Governor Nasir Idris recently said the state had maintained regular payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities, while also recruiting thousands of workers into the civil service.
Officials said improved welfare should be matched with professionalism and commitment from civil servants to ensure government programmes are effectively implemented.
Workers were therefore encouraged to observe official working hours, avoid unnecessary absence and contribute positively to the development of the state.
