The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old suspect, identified as Usman Dauda, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in Saki, Oyo State.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

According to the police, the incident followed a distress report filed at the Saki Divisional Station on September 17, after the child went missing while being retrieved from school.

Ayanlade said a localised search led to the recovery of the girl by the roadside in a distressed condition. Preliminary investigations reportedly indicated that the suspect had forcefully taken her to his apartment.

The police subsequently arrested the suspect and recovered physical evidence linked to the alleged offence. The victim is receiving comprehensive clinical treatment and psychotherapeutic care at a medical facility in Saki.
