Nigeria Seeks Cheaper Capital to Drive Africa’s Development

Nigeria is calling for greater access to affordable financing to support development projects across Africa and help address the continent’s infrastructure and investment needs.

The country stressed the importance of reducing the cost of capital, particularly for developing economies that face high borrowing costs and limited access to long-term funding.

Nigeria noted that cheaper and more accessible financing would help African countries invest in critical sectors such as infrastructure, energy, healthcare, education and technology.

The push is also aimed at encouraging stronger partnerships between African governments, financial institutions and private investors to mobilise the funds needed to accelerate sustainable economic growth across the continent.
