A member of the House of Representatives has defended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, against allegations of wrongdoing over borrowings undertaken during his tenure as governor of Rivers State.
The lawmaker said Wike did not violate any law in securing loans, maintaining that the borrowing arrangements complied with the relevant legal and constitutional requirements.
He dismissed claims of financial impropriety, stressing that the necessary procedures were followed in obtaining the loans.
The comments come amid ongoing scrutiny of public borrowing by state governments and growing calls for transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.
