Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has forwarded the names of six commissioner nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House, Zape Upaa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The nominees are Hon. Kuma Yenge, Hon. Roy Terna, Hon. Angwa Monday, Hon. Elizabeth Ogenyi, Hon. Solomon Iorpev and Hon. Nick Eworo.

According to the statement, Governor Alia said the nomination was aimed at strengthening the State Executive Council and bringing additional expertise and capacity into his administration.

The Governor urged the House to give the nominees prompt and favourable consideration in line with its constitutional responsibility.

The development comes as the Alia administration continues efforts to strengthen the state cabinet and improve service delivery.

The nominees are expected to fill vacancies created by the resignation of some former commissioners who left office to contest elective positions during the recent primary elections.
