The Joint Security Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace (OPSH), has relocated its tactical headquarters from Jos to Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State in response to rising insecurity in the area.
The redeployment follows a series of attacks in Mangu, including the recent assault on Binper Village that reportedly claimed more than 25 lives.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Commander of OPSH and General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Williams Dangana, said the relocation was aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing response time.
Dangana said the physical presence of the task force leadership in Mangu would enable closer monitoring of the security situation and allow for faster tactical responses to emerging threats.
He disclosed that the operation had received additional troops, equipment and logistics approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu.
The military has also launched Operation Hard Nut, a new initiative aimed at dismantling armed groups and restoring peace in Mangu and neighbouring communities.
Dangana assured residents that security forces would maintain a sustained presence in the area to clear hostile elements and protect communities.
The relocation is expected to strengthen coordination among security agencies and local stakeholders as military operations intensify across Mangu and adjoining areas.
