Samsung Electronics is raising prices for some of its chipmaking services by up to 15%, according to sources, as surging demand for artificial intelligence chips puts pressure on semiconductor production capacity.
The increases reportedly affect advanced manufacturing processes, including 4-nanometer, 5-nanometer and 8-nanometer technologies, with customers in the U.S. and China facing some of the largest adjustments.
The move could strengthen Samsung’s foundry business as global demand for AI processors, data-center infrastructure and high-performance computing continues to grow.
