The Kano State Government has distributed improved fertiliser to 1,500 farmers as part of efforts to enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen food security and support rural livelihoods across the state.

The initiative is aimed at providing farmers with quality agricultural inputs to improve crop yields, increase farm productivity and contribute to sustainable agricultural development during the current farming season.

State officials said the fertiliser distribution forms part of the government’s broader agricultural support programme designed to empower farmers, reduce production costs and encourage increased cultivation of staple crops.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and significant in helping them improve farm output amid rising production challenges. They noted that access to improved fertiliser would enhance soil fertility, boost harvests and increase household incomes.

The Kano State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through strategic interventions, including the provision of quality farm inputs, extension services and policies aimed at improving food production and promoting economic growth.

The initiative underscores the state’s continued investment in agriculture as a key driver of economic development, employment generation and food sufficiency.
