The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly charged Dr Bello Abubakar, an oncology consultant at the National Hospital, Abuja, over allegations bordering on forgery of a medical report.

According to reports, the commission accused the doctor of allegedly issuing a medical document that was presented in connection with former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s bail application on health grounds.

The matter has attracted public attention as it involves allegations concerning the authenticity of medical documentation submitted in a legal proceeding.

ICPC’s action forms part of its mandate to investigate and prosecute alleged cases of corruption, abuse of office, and related offences.

The accused doctor is expected to face the legal process, where evidence will be presented and examined by the court.

As the case proceeds, all parties involved remain entitled to due process, and the allegations will be determined through judicial proceedings.
