The Delta State Police Command has arrested an Asaba based content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as “Odogwu of Asaaba”, over the alleged rape and death of a 20 year old woman, Favour Agbro.
According to the police, the victim travelled to Asaba on June 1 after the suspect allegedly promised to support her financially and train her in content creation. Police said she was taken to a hotel where she was allegedly raped and physically assaulted. The victim later returned home, narrated her ordeal to her family, recorded a video describing her experience, and reportedly died after ingesting a toxic substance.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police ordered an immediate investigation, leading to the suspect’s arrest. Police said the suspect is in custody, has made useful statements, and investigations are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case. The command assured the public that anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
