Trump Warns of More Strikes on Iran, Says US Could Act ‘Without a Deal’

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch another round of military strikes against Iran as early as Thursday night, saying Washington would “probably hit them hard again tonight” if necessary.

Speaking to reporters during the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said the United States remained focused on dismantling Iran’s nuclear programme rather than pursuing regime change.

“The objective is to end their nuclear programme,” Trump said, reiterating that the campaign was aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

When questioned about his earlier remarks that the ceasefire and memorandum of understanding with Iran were effectively “over,” Trump declined to say whether diplomacy could still succeed.

“We may just do it without a deal because, you know what, it’s easier,” he told reporters.

Trump also threatened to reimpose a naval blockade on Iran, a measure that had been lifted under the original agreement that helped bring an end to hostilities.

His comments came after a fresh wave of U.S. strikes on Iranian targets overnight and reflected a noticeably tougher tone toward Tehran, suggesting growing frustration within the White House over the lack of progress in negotiations.

The remarks have heightened concerns over the possibility of further military escalation in the Middle East, even as international leaders continue to call for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts.
