US President Donald Trump has expressed support for the planned firing squad execution of Nidal Hasan, the former Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting in Texas.
Hasan is scheduled to be executed on December 3. The Pentagon announced plans to livestream the execution, which would be the first US military execution since 1961.
Speaking to reporters on Friday before travelling to Syracuse, New York, for a political event, Trump said he supported the death penalty for Hasan, adding that he did not care how the execution was carried out as long as it took place.
Trump did not clearly respond when asked whether livestreaming the execution was appropriate or whether he intended to watch it.
The case stems from the November 2009 attack at Fort Hood, where Hasan killed 13 people and wounded more than 30 others.
