The Delta State Police Command has called on residents to provide credible information regarding the recent clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Democratic Congress (NDC). The incident, which reportedly led to tension in parts of the state, has raised concerns about political violence ahead of the elections.

In a statement, police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the confrontation and identify those responsible. Authorities emphasized that community cooperation is vital in ensuring peace and preventing further escalation.

The Command also clarified reports about the recovery of a rifle at the scene. According to police sources, the weapon was retrieved during the operation, but investigations are still underway to establish its ownership and whether it was used during the clash.

Law enforcement reiterated its neutrality in political matters, stressing that its priority is to maintain law and order. The police urged political parties and their supporters to conduct activities peacefully and avoid actions that could endanger lives or property.

The appeal for information highlights the importance of community vigilance in curbing political violence, while the clarification on the rifle recovery aims to dispel misinformation surrounding the incident.
