The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Yobe State, Kasim Gaidam, has pledged to translate the party’s policies into programmes that will have a direct impact on residents if elected in the 2027 governorship election.
Gaidam made the commitment during the inauguration of the party’s 57-member Unified Campaign Council and the commissioning of its new state secretariat in Damaturu.
He said the ADC would prioritise youth participation, voter education and awareness as part of its preparations for the 2027 elections.
According to him, young people should take an active role in the electoral process, including serving as polling agents and protecting their votes throughout the voting and collation stages.
Gaidam said the party would also deploy agents to monitor the electoral process from polling units through the various stages of result collation.
On his proposed administration, the ADC candidate said he would focus on addressing economic challenges, improving education and promoting leadership by example. He added that his administration would develop implementation strategies for translating ADC presidential policies into programmes with direct benefits for people across Yobe State.
He also pledged to tackle corruption and said the party would continue engaging communities across the state as part of its campaign activities.
The ADC state leader, Adamu Maina Waziri, said the 57-member campaign council would coordinate the party’s campaigns for presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections in Yobe State.
Waziri said the council would engage residents across communities to mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
