Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on citizens to strengthen unity, love and peaceful coexistence across the state, saying collective efforts are essential to achieving sustainable development.
Fintiri made the call on Friday while inaugurating the newly completed Government House Friday Mosque in Yola. He urged residents to rise above ethnic, religious and political differences and work together in the interest of Adamawa.
The governor said differences should be treated as opportunities for mutual understanding and respect rather than sources of division. He also encouraged religious and traditional leaders, political actors and other stakeholders to continue promoting peace, tolerance and harmony within their communities.
According to Fintiri, the new mosque should serve not only as a centre of worship but also as a symbol of brotherhood, unity and peaceful coexistence.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building an inclusive society where people from different backgrounds can live and work together peacefully, stressing that the progress of Adamawa depends on the collective commitment of its people.
The inauguration was attended by government officials, religious leaders, traditional rulers and Muslim faithful.
“Unity is our strength, love is our bond, and together we can build the Adamawa we all desire,” Fintiri said.
