Aston Villa have completed the signing of highly rated Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth £47 million ($63 million).

The Premier League club confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, securing the services of the 18-year-old winger on a permanent deal after his impressive breakthrough season in France.

Mbaye featured 31 times across all competitions for PSG last season as the Parisian giants enjoyed a historic campaign, winning both the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 title.

The teenager also made his mark on the international stage during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he represented Senegal four times and scored against France.

His goal made him the youngest African player to score at a men’s World Cup, further enhancing his reputation as one of the continent’s brightest young talents.

Mbaye has already earned 15 senior caps for Senegal, having made his PSG debut at just 16 years old.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain,” the club said in a statement.

“The Senegal international, a bright and exciting young prospect who scored for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joins on a permanent transfer.”

The arrival of Mbaye represents another major investment by Villa manager Unai Emery as the club reshapes its squad following a busy summer transfer window.

Villa have undergone significant changes since winning the Europa League last season, ending a 30-year wait for a major trophy. The club has parted company with several established players, including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa.

Emery has responded by bringing in a number of new faces, including Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.

Mbaye now becomes the latest addition to an ambitious Villa squad as the club looks to build on its success and compete strongly on both domestic and European fronts.

The Senegalese youngster will be expected to bring pace, creativity and attacking threat to Emery’s side, while his rapid development could make him one of the Premier League’s most exciting young players to watch.
