Former Remo Stars captain Junior Nduka has completed a move to Indian Super League side Sporting Club Delhi, signing a one-year contract with an option to extend for another season.
The 23-year-old defender joins SC Delhi from Iraqi outfit Al-Najaf FC and is expected to play a key role for the club ahead of the 2026/27 Indian Super League campaign, which is scheduled to begin on October 10.
Nduka’s arrival represents a major addition for the Delhi-based club as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
According to reports from Khel Now, the Nigerian international had attracted interest from Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic earlier in the summer before ultimately agreeing to join SC Delhi.
Nduka rose to prominence at Remo Stars, where he was entrusted with the captaincy at a young age. He played a significant role in the club’s rise to the Nigeria Premier Football League following their promotion in September 2021.
His leadership and performances continued to attract attention, and he eventually helped Remo Stars achieve domestic success by winning the league title in 2025.
Following the championship triumph, Nduka left Nigeria to continue his career in Iraq.
He initially joined Erbil SC during the 2025/26 season, reportedly signing a five-year contract, before moving to Al-Najaf FC in January.
The defender went on to make 26 appearances in Iraq during the campaign, gaining valuable experience in the Iraqi top flight before securing his latest move to India.
Nduka has also featured at international level for Nigeria. He received his first invitation to the senior Super Eagles squad in May 2025 for friendly matches against Jamaica and Ghana, although he did not make an appearance in either fixture.
The defender later captained Nigeria at the 2025 African Nations Championship, featuring in three matches against Senegal, Sudan and Congo.
His move to SC Delhi now provides Nduka with another opportunity to establish himself abroad while continuing his development as a defender and leader.
With the new Indian Super League season approaching, the former Remo Stars skipper will be hoping his experience in Nigeria and Iraq can help SC Delhi make a strong impression in the 2026/27 campaign.
