Victor Osimhen remains the most efficient goalscorer in Serie A over the past six seasons, despite leaving Napoli two years ago, according to data from Opta.
The Nigerian striker tops the ranking of players who have scored at least 50 goals in Italy’s top flight since the 2020/21 campaign, averaging a goal every 125 minutes.
Osimhen scored 65 Serie A goals in 108 appearances during his four-year spell with Napoli, establishing himself as one of the league’s most feared forwards.
His most prolific season came in 2022/23, when he scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances to finish as Serie A’s top scorer and help Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.
The striker’s relationship with Napoli later deteriorated, leading to his loan move to Galatasaray in 2024. The Turkish club subsequently made his transfer permanent in 2025 in a deal reportedly worth €75 million.
Despite his departure from Italy, Osimhen’s goalscoring efficiency remains unmatched among the league’s leading scorers during the period under review.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez ranks second, scoring once every 133 minutes. The Argentine has registered 132 Serie A goals in 267 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
Dusan Vlahovic and Ciro Immobile share third place, with both averaging a goal every 146 minutes.
Vlahovic spent eight seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina and Juventus before leaving Italy for Besiktas, while Immobile enjoyed a long career in the competition with Juventus, Genoa, Torino, Lazio and Bologna.
The 36-year-old Immobile has scored 174 Serie A goals, although his scoring rate stands at one goal every 146 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku completes the top five, averaging a goal every 163 minutes. The Belgian enjoyed spells with Inter Milan and Roma before joining Napoli, where he spent two seasons following Osimhen’s departure.
Lukaku later moved to Turkey, where he now plays in the same league as Osimhen.
Osimhen’s position at the top of the Opta ranking highlights just how clinical the Nigerian was during his time in Italy. His remarkable scoring rate placed him ahead of several of Serie A’s most prolific forwards and further underlined his impact during Napoli’s historic title-winning campaign.
The statistics also reinforce Osimhen’s status as one of the most effective goalscorers of his generation, even after his departure from the Italian top flight.
