Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote contacted him during the Osun State governorship election and asked him to delete his social media posts about the poll.
Davido said the calls came while he was posting updates and raising concerns about developments during the election. He said he refused to delete the posts and insisted that they would remain online until the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the final result.
The singer also alleged that about N110 billion was brought into Osun State in an attempt to influence the election. He described the development as a threat to Nigeria’s democratic process and maintained that voters should be allowed to freely choose their leaders.
