A cryptocurrency company backed by U.S. President Donald Trump is facing scrutiny over its partnership with WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-based platform that offers access to artificial intelligence models developed by Chinese companies.

According to a Reuters investigation, nearly half of the 90 AI models available on WorldClaw come from Chinese companies, including Alibaba, Baidu and Z.ai. Some of these companies have been flagged by U.S. authorities over national security concerns.

World Liberty Financial, the Trump-backed crypto venture, allows its digital tokens, including WLFI and USD1, to be used on the WorldClaw platform.

While the partnership is not illegal, it has raised questions because the Trump administration has taken a tough position on Chinese technology and AI. Critics say the business relationship highlights the growing connection between cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and the ongoing technology rivalry between the United States and China.
