Senior Special Assistants to Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, from the M5 axis have declared their support for his ambition to represent Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
The group, comprising aides from Michika, Madagali, Maiha, Mubi North and Mubi South Local Government Areas, announced their position during a press briefing, describing their support for the governor as firm and unanimous.
According to the Senior Special Assistants, Governor Fintiri’s record in public service, political experience and achievements in Adamawa State influenced their decision to support his senatorial aspiration.
They cited developments in education, healthcare, road construction, workers’ welfare, urban renewal and market development as some of the areas where they said the administration had made significant progress.
The group particularly highlighted the government’s free education initiatives and assistance with WAEC and NECO fees, saying the measures had reduced the financial pressure on families and enabled more students to pursue their education.
They also pointed to the construction and rehabilitation of roads, flyovers, hospitals and markets as evidence of the administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure and stimulate development across the state.
The group said Adamawa North needed a representative with the experience, political maturity and capacity to effectively present the interests of the senatorial district at the National Assembly.
They argued that Fintiri’s experience as a public servant and political leader had equipped him with the necessary understanding to represent the people of Adamawa North effectively.
The aides therefore appealed to political stakeholders, traditional leaders, community leaders, youths, women and other residents of the senatorial district to support the governor ahead of the 2027 elections.
They further pledged to embark on mobilisation and sensitisation across the M5 communities to promote Fintiri’s aspiration.
The group maintained that the governor’s proposed move to the Senate would provide Adamawa North with experienced political leadership and stronger representation at the national level.
