Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has given Arsenal renewed hope of signing him this summer after refusing to rule out a move away from Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old addressed the transfer speculation after scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against newly promoted Corum FK in their opening league fixture.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen said he remained focused on his responsibilities at Galatasaray but suggested that his future could still change before the transfer window closes.
“There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I will focus on my job. I am focused on my work. We will see and think about what comes next then,” he said.
The comments have intensified speculation linking the Nigerian forward with Arsenal, who are reportedly exploring a move for the striker as they seek to strengthen their attacking options.
Spanish publication SPORT reported that Barcelona had been offered the opportunity to sign Osimhen but opted to pursue other targets, potentially leaving Arsenal with a clearer path to the Nigerian.
Galatasaray are, however, under no immediate pressure to sell the striker, who is contracted to the Turkish champions until June 2029.
Reports also indicate that the club recently rejected a €130 million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, highlighting the value placed on their star forward.
Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive spell in Turkey since joining Galatasaray permanently from Napoli. He has scored 53 goals in 69 appearances for the club.
Despite the transfer uncertainty, Osimhen said he remained committed to giving his best for Galatasaray and helping the club compete domestically and in the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal’s reported interest is expected to remain one of the major transfer stories to watch as the summer window approaches its closing stages.
