Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during separate intelligence-led operations in Borno State, dealing another blow to the terrorist group’s supply network.
The arrests were made during coordinated security operations aimed at disrupting the movement of logistics and essential supplies to insurgents operating across the North-East.
According to security sources, the first suspect was intercepted at a military checkpoint along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari axis while allegedly transporting items believed to be destined for ISWAP elements. Troops reportedly recovered herbicides, chemical containers, about 100 sachets of tramadol capsules, and other materials suspected to be used in supporting terrorist activities.
In a separate operation, another suspect was apprehended while allegedly conveying supplies to insurgents. Security personnel recovered additional logistics items during the arrest, while both suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.
Military authorities said the successful operations reflect the sustained efforts of Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle terrorist logistics networks, block supply routes, and weaken the operational capacity of insurgent groups in the North-East.
The latest arrests form part of ongoing counter-insurgency operations targeting individuals and networks that provide material support to terrorist organizations, as security forces intensify efforts to restore lasting peace and stability across the region.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the suspected logistics network.
