Tokyo/New York – Director Takashi Yamazaki’s highly anticipated Godzilla Minus Zero will make its world premiere at the New York Film Festival, marking a major milestone ahead of its global theatrical release.
The film is the direct follow-up to the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, which earned international acclaim for its visual effects and emotional storytelling. The sequel reunites Yamazaki with returning cast members as the story continues two years after the events of the previous film.
The New York Film Festival premiere is expected to generate significant buzz among critics and fans before the movie arrives in Japanese cinemas on November 3, 2026, followed by its North American release on November 6. The film will also be released in IMAX, becoming the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film shot for the format.
The latest installment promises higher stakes, larger-scale destruction, and a deeper emotional journey as humanity once again confronts the King of the Monsters. Early teaser footage has already fueled excitement, with Godzilla returning to New York City in spectacular fashion.
