A Federal High Court has convicted two individuals and imposed a fine on a company for engaging in illegal mining activities in Kwara State, reinforcing the government’s crackdown on unlawful exploitation of the nation’s mineral resources.
The court delivered the judgment after finding the defendants guilty of operating mining activities without the required licences and violating provisions of the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act.
