Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has laid the foundation for the construction of student hostels and an administrative block at the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ganye, while inspecting an Artificial Insemination Centre donated by L-PRES.
The visit was aimed at assessing the institution’s facilities and ensuring the implementation of accreditation requirements for new courses to improve teaching and learning standards.

Professor Farauta said the state government was committed to upgrading the institution’s infrastructure to meet established standards and global best practices, thereby facilitating the accreditation of additional programmes across various departments.

She noted that the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had secured accreditation for several courses, enabling the institution to strengthen its academic standing and recognition beyond the state.
The Deputy Governor stressed that improved facilities and compliance with accreditation requirements remained essential to expanding educational opportunities and enhancing the quality of graduates produced by the institution.
The Gangwari Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Adamu Sanda, commended the Deputy Governor’s visit, describing it as a positive development for the area.
He expressed optimism that the visit would encourage further government investment in the institution, particularly in providing funds needed to secure accreditation for additional courses.
The traditional ruler also highlighted the importance of artificial insemination technology in livestock production, noting that its adoption could improve dairy and beef production while strengthening local animal husbandry.
The projects and facilities are expected to support the institution’s development and contribute to agricultural education and livestock production in Adamawa State.
