At least five political appointees in the Katsina State Government have resigned within days, amid growing political activity and reported divisions within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The latest resignation came from Muhammad Shitu Maslaha, Deputy Commander of the Katsina State Hisbah Board in charge of Operations, who submitted his resignation on October 6, 2026. His departure followed that of the Hisbah Board Commander-General, Aminu Usman, popularly known as Abu Ammar, who resigned on October 5.
Other officials who have recently left their positions include the Chairman of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Kabir Bature Sarkin Alhazai; Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dikko Radda on Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Fadila Sani Dalhatu; and Special Adviser on Youth Development, Abubakar Soja Tsanni.
