Japanese football legend Kazuyoshi Miura, popularly known as “King Kazu,” continued to defy age by scoring at 59 years old in Fukushima United’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Iwaki Furukawa in the Emperor’s Cup.
Miura found the net in the 52nd minute, making it 5-0 for Fukushima United and recording his first competitive goal in nearly four years. The veteran forward was warmly celebrated by his teammates before being substituted just three minutes later.
The victory secured Fukushima United’s place in the next round of the Emperor’s Cup and added another remarkable milestone to Miura’s extraordinary career, which has now stretched across more than four decades. The former Japan international is preparing for his 42nd professional season after extending his stay with the club until June 2027.
Miura, who began his professional career in Brazil in 1986, remains the world’s oldest active professional footballer and continues to inspire football fans worldwide with his longevity, dedication, and passion for the game.
