The Office of the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government (SSG) has organised a one-day training workshop on the E-Document Management System (EDMS) as part of ongoing efforts to accelerate the digitisation of official records and modernise administrative processes within the office.
The training, held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Alheri Royal Guest House in Yola, brought together selected staff of the SSG’s Office for practical sessions on digital document management, records administration and the use of electronic systems for improved information management.
Declaring the workshop open, the Permanent Secretary, Political, in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mal. Ibrahim Buba, welcomed the participants and described the training as an important follow-up to the office’s ongoing digitisation programme.

Buba said the initiative was aimed at supporting the systematic migration of the office from analogue processes to digital systems, stressing the importance of embracing technology to improve efficiency and service delivery.
He urged staff to actively embrace the digitisation process, noting that the transformation would help make the SSG’s Office more efficient and distinguish it from other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The Permanent Secretary also noted that the office had already begun to see positive results from its digitisation efforts and expressed optimism that the training would further strengthen the implementation of the programme.
He wished participants a successful and productive training.
The workshop featured two major sessions: E-Document Management System User Guide and Online Access Catalogue for Official Documents.
The practical sessions were facilitated by Mr Usman Aliyu and Mr Usman Ahmed, who took participants through key aspects of electronic document management, including online files, records management, registry operations and best practices for maintaining digital archives.
The facilitators also demonstrated how electronic archives can be continuously updated, improved and managed to ensure that official information remains accessible, organised and secure.
The training forms part of broader efforts by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government to strengthen its digital infrastructure and improve the management, accessibility and preservation of government records.
The adoption of electronic document management is expected to reduce reliance on paper-based processes, improve the retrieval of official documents and enhance institutional efficiency within the SSG’s Office.
